Pastor Kevin and Mason Hall

Pastor Kevin Hall arrived at Greenfield First United Methodist Church as Lead Pastor on Sunday October 18th, 2015. Pastor Kevin is originally from Poasttown, OH, which is a country burg of Middletown, OH. He played baseball, basketball, soccer and football while growing up at Madison Jr/Sr. High School. He grew up in a single parent Christian home and would say he was raised by two women, his mom Donna and sister Rene’e. Although he went to church on Sunday, he played the part, but lived “like the devil” during the week. After a tragic car accident that took the life of a close friend in which he was supposed to carpool with he realized something had to change. A week after the funeral he went to a Youth Overnight event on Jan 1st, 1993 New Years Eve. During the worship service Kevin was moved by the Holy Spirit to come forward to the altar, where he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart.

Pastor Kevin is very open about being a recovered addict. He has been clean for 22 years but acknowledges that the struggle of addiction is very present and it is his desire to help people overcome their addictions through his ministry. In the summer of 1993, Kevin felt the call of ministry on his life while at church camp and there he committed his life to God’s service. Pastor Kevin said ” I made a deal with God, I promised to be a youth pastor if God would never ask him to be a Sr. Pastor!” Kevin graduated from Madison High School with a 1.89 GPA, but was accepted to Mid America Christian University in Oklahoma City, OK.

Kevin served as a Children’s Minister at Pauls Valley First Church of God and as a intern Youth Pastor at Redline Church of God in Palco, KS and interim Youth Pastor at Decatur Church of God in Decatur IN. He became the Youth Pastor of Harrah United Methodist Church in Harrah, OK in 1997. He graduated from Mid America Christian University in December of 1999 and went to Flyod Church of God in Midland, MI as a Youth Pastor.

In March of 2001 Kevin returned home to Middeltown, OH and became the Associate Pastor of Poasttown First Church of God in his hometown of Poasttown, OH for 5 yrs. Pastor Kevin says ” Had it not been for Pastor Randy Wallace, I would never be where I am today, he taught me how to be a pastor and helped me recognize the full calling on my life.” Pastor Kevin was ordained in the Church of God in 2004 and got married. He was a bi-vocational youth pastor working in finance with two car dealerships as well as a 5 year stint as an insurance agent with AAA Insurance. He and his wife had Mason in March of 2007. He became the Sr. Pastor of Marshall Road Church of God in February of 2008, when he left AAA.

Pastor Kevin went through a divorce in 2012 and says” when your spouse leaves it is one of the most difficult things to go through”. In January of 2013, Pastor Kevin was accepted into United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH. His goal was to become a Hospice Chaplain but that changed as God refocused his calling in Church Renewal. In May of 2013 Pastor Kevin resigned as Lead Pastor of Marshall Road Church to accept the appointment by the Northwest Plains District of the UMC. In October of 2015 Pastor Kevin was appointed the Pastor of Greenfield First United Methodist Church with his 9 year old son Mason. Pastor Kevin is a Certified Candidate for Eldership in the Shawnee Valley District of the United Methodist Church and is a Licensed Minister in the UMC.
